The mobile app is working great but i would like to address some limitations and suggestions for future versions.
Limitations:
- if the property has availability for more than 10 people it doesn't show, the list is only displaying a maximum 10 pax. it can be changed to a text field and added manually in a number format.
- The Room names and property details can only be changed in the app only if you log out and back in. It can be fixed by utilizing the refresh function to also update the data.
- The reservation information only displays the guest information, and info codes. and you cannot modify the room price or add any charges [suggestions]
-- Add price information to be changed or added within the app.
-- Add information regarding the rate plan & offer chosen, currently I'm utilizing the custom question function with auto actions to create a text that can be displayed within the app. [even in the browser mode, it doesn't display the chosen offer, I've created auto actions to detect the offer using ifs and connected it to a custom question to display in the details tab for the front-desk staff and the mobile app] even though the rates are actually connected to the offers and can be easily detected.
-- When you select the check in date, the check out date doesn't change with it, meaning when searching it initially displays the check-in date as today, and checkout displays the next date. but when you change the check-in date for example to 10 days from now, the check-out date doesn't change and you have to manually do it.
- The most sought after update: The calendar setup: our 111+ users main request is to change the calendar setup, meaning have a calendar that displays the room type and number in a condensed way to the left, and just scroll horizontally to view other dates and reservation just like the web version.
- Creating Group reservation: In the app when you make a reservation it asks if you wish to create another one, when you do the user thinks that it would create a group reservation, but it doesn't it just creates a standalone reservation. it would be good to have the add to cart method to create a group reservation from within the app as well.
- Rates: I know this is a long shot, but in the digital age, almost everyone uses the app on-the-go to manage their property, it would be a good feature to have if you can just change the rates.
- Current Guests page in the mobile app. in the current guests page there is an option to change the dates, which i think it's not needed, because usually the current guests should show the Current Guests. just a suggestion.
Ui/Ux design suggestion;
- If the user has only access to a single property it would be better not to show the property list, it would display the single property.
- if the user has selects the property it currently shows a condensed two column calendar, I would suggest to show in rows the room names, and the number of rooms available for the current date (today) it would be faster to know if they have availability or not. and once clicked on it can display the calendar but hopefully you'd consider the more modern look of the calendar that I've suggested above.
User limitations: i believe it can be done if it get's the data from the user's role. just a suggestion.
Most of our users are Hotels and these suggestions would help in the day-to-day operations.
I know the web version is also accessible through mobile browsers, but currently our users have to shuffle through the app & the mobile's web browser to manage the minimum information for their properties ... such as adding charges to the reservation, changing the price, changing the rates.
