Hi under the control panel, is it possible to show the customers last name for the booking on the calendar page? It appears to be showing the firstname?

It does show the full name but it is probably being truncated because of the limited space per day, especially if it is a one night booking.
You can customize the hover text that appears when you mouse over the booking.
At the menu Settings > Account > Preferences > "Booking Hover Text" use template variables to create your own custom display of the booking information.
