How do you choose what is written on the line within the calendar view - at the moment I have the name of the guest and the name of the room - but I want to change this to show just the name of the guest?? Thanks for letting me know.

You can customise which rows you want the CALENDAR to display clicking on "Filter". To change between a combined line for bookings and rates and a separate line for bookings and rates go to SETTINGS->ACCOUNT-> PREFERENCES "Control Panel Calendar". Look here:
