Pre-arrival emails for last minute bookings

Hi there,
We send out a pre-arrival email 7 days prior to arrival.
I have just realised that if a guest makes a reservation within 7 days of arrival, the automatic email will not be sent.
This has caused us to have a few guests arrive without the necessary instructions for accessing the property.
Is there a way to trigger an automatic email to be sent only if booking is within X days of arrival? Or is there a way to force an automatic email to be sent if the "Booked On" date is less than the date upon which the automatic email will be sent?
