airbnb cancellation after check in

I just discovered when a guest from airbnb cancel after check in, the reservation is marked as cancelled. This behavior created a major issue as I rely on the check out of confirmed reservation for my cleaning schedule. I have a reservation cancelled 2 days after check in in airbnb, and it disappeared form the schedule as it was cancel. We missed to clean the room and the next guest came in a dirty room.

How can we change this behavior to have the reservation not cancel but confirmed with an updated check out date?

From my point of view, a guest who check in and reduce his stay is not considered as a cancellation.

When a guest cancels a booking at Airbnb they updade the booking with the status cancelled. We can not stop Airbnb doing this.

You can use the info code CHECKIN for all status to trigger the auto action. You would set

Status = All
Any booking info code = CHECKIN

THat is good to know, Does this happen with other channel? like VRBO, booking.com

Yes, this will happen with all channel bookings.
