Sometimes I cancel guest bookings to free up space in the dorm. Guests are then upgraded to another room (e.g. twin or private).
However to do this I have to cancel their booking and promptly follow up with an email explaining they have not been cancelled. This is obviously not very professional and I'd like to personalise the cancellation email or not have it sent it all.

The system does not send automatic cancellation messages if you change the status of a booking to "Cancelled" (in the "Summary" tab of the booking). If messages are going out please check if you have set up an Auto Action Email with settings which trigger these.
If you want to move an individual booking you can simply change the "Room" setting n the "Summary" tab of the booking.
