When working with bookings that have been generated via the channel manager we sometimes have to make changes which are not reflected on the OTC's side. for example we may upgrade rooms or extend dates after the customer has arrived. or change dates based on direct communication with the guest. however if the system receives a followup email from the channel (guest request for example) the booking is reverted to it's original conditions.

for example
Agoda: manually extending an Agoda booking after the customer arrives, will automatically revert to the original dates fairly quickly as Agoda seems to refresh booking details often (this problem does not exist with booking.com)

Booking.com: recently we changed a booking to a different room as requested by the customer via the booking.com notification system. the booking was a non modifiable one so the customer had to make a special request. we agreed the change and then updated our end. once we replied via the booking.com system we were sent an additional booking modification notice which had the effect of undoing the changes we had made.

so what we need is a way to manually lock in a booking so that changes from the OTC's maybe show as requests rather then actual changes which we can review and action as needed?

There is a new setting on the DETAILS menu tab of all Booking.com, Agoda and iCal bookings called "Allow Channel Modification"
You can change this to "NO" and the booking will not be changed by the iCal feeds.
