Pissed off about security code for viewing credit cards

I went to run a credit card for a booking and hit the "show" button and it popped up wanting a security code. I did some digging and it said the security code was in the confirmation email? Who the hell thought that was a good idea?
Seriously...you expect me to have to go to find a confirmation email every time I want to run a credit card? That is stupid and ridiculous. Seriously. I've been a software developer for over 40 years and there is no way I would think that was a good idea. Email is unreliable...critical business activities should never depend on email. Moreover, its a huge hassle.
Please go back to using the admin password, or at the very least have a setting somewhere where I can set the code I want to use to enter when viewing the credit card details. If that's not an option, then use a 2FA app to generate a code but for godsake do not force us to use a code embedded in an email. Even hitting "resend" on the email does not show (without actually sending the email) the damn code. This is annoying enough to make me want to migrate to a different booking vendor.
