Airbnb reported an incident which cause cleaning fees not to apply.


From Sep 14 10am PST - Sep 16 10:30am PST pass through cleaning fees, as part of the Pricing Settings API standard fees, were not correctly applied on Airbnb. This means that reservations, which were made during this time window, may not have had cleaning fees applied.

While the technical issue has now been resolved, we’re taking the following actions to address impacted reservations:


For those Hosts who canceled affected reservations because the cleaning fee was not applied correctly, Airbnb will waive any cancellation penalties.

For all other Hosts with affected reservations, we plan to cover the lost cleaning fees. At the end of each month, Airbnb will review reservations that completed check-in and will reimburse hosts the following month. Cleaning fees for canceled or altered reservations will not be covered.


Airbn plan to notify impacted Hosts about these actions within the next 2 weeks. Hosts won’t be able to get their cleaning fees refunded by contacting Airbnb Customer Support directly. Impacted Hosts will be contacted by Airbnb via email.
