When I change the status of Booking 48346 from "New" to "Cancelled", the colour remains light purple in the calendar view and the room is not released for booking (even though it shows as "Cancelled" in the Bookings view).
An associated Bug is probably that, after a new booking is viewed, the status does no longer automatically change to "Confirmed" from "New"

The problem was that the control panel screen was not being reloaded when the booking status value changed.
This change was actually being saved and would have been visible if the page refreshed.
I have changed the control panel to make it automatically force a page refresh whenever anything changes in a popup that is relevant to the underlying page.
If nothing has changed it closes the popup to show the underlying page as quickly as possible, otherwise the underlying page is reloaded with a resulting short delay before it is visible.

Even if one adds comments in the notes field and saves, the status still no longer automatically change to "Confirmed" from "New".
