Is it the new option in the stripe tab " Save all cards to Stripe " ?

It's write "This option will save all cards to Stripe and delete them from Beds24." does it mean If we active it, we don't have access to the credit card number in beds24 ?
Thanks.

Yes that is the option.
Once the card has been saved to Stripe, it is deleted from Beds24. You can make a charge to the card at any time from Stripe or from the Beds24 booking without having to know the card number.

If Stripe do not accept the card, it's details will remain in Beds24.

If you click it, Booking.com contact the guest requesting them to add a new card to the booking and if there is no response from the guest within a specified time (normally 36 hours) you can cancel the booking.
If you do cancel the booking, you need to do it in the Booking.com extranet to also cancel the commission. This will then cancel it in Beds24.
Cancelling it only in Beds24 will not free you from the Booking.com commission.
What will actually happen is booking.com will then generate automatic emails asking you to hold the booking until 6pm on the day of arrival :o Then when the guest doesn't turn up you've got an empty room and no way of getting any money.

booking.com put a lot of effort into undermining any attempt the owner makes to protect themselves from fraudulent bookings.

If we choose the 'save all cards to stripe' option will this also be the case for bookings that are not set to 'Deposit collection 1' and instead are set to 'cc for conformations'?

we use two types of rate; prepaide (hopefully via stripe) and postpaid where the card number is taken but the payment is processed at the end via our own merchant services. so ideally we still need the card number?

This option stores all cards from all sources at Stripe so you would not be able to use your own Merchant service.

You don't need to charge every card at Stripe, they can also be stored securely for you to charge later at your discretion.
As far as I am aware there are no stripe fee's unless you actually charge the card and if the card has been accepted and stored by Stripe you can be more confident it is a valid card.
Making a small charge to the card would give you even more security the card is valid.

Thanks for flagging up the option to save cards to STRIPE.

Does that include booking.com? channels etc?

And, what's the situation if the card details are marked as invalid by STRIPE?

I assume, if booking.com is supported, that I'd be able to go to STRIPE and charge the deposit as per our booking.com conditions, if it failed at that point, I'd have to manage that. We really don't want the deposit much, it's more about validating the booking for us.

Yes it applies to all the channels which supply cards and our booking page if you collect cards on it.
Stripe do a basic check on the card and if it fails to store with them we keep the details in beds24 in the usual way.
The check seems to be pretty good, in my tests it rejected test cards and bad CVC numbers.
Once the card is stored at stripe you can charge it to prove it really is valid.
I suppose it would also be possible to charge and then refund the charge if you only want to test the card is valid.

There is also a booking info item attached to the booking in Beds24 with the Stripe status, this can be used as a search criteria in a custom report to find bookings with or without cards at stripe.
