Booking form designer and new custom questions

We have added new functions to manage the booking form shown to the guest where they enter their name, email, telephone, address etc.
You can now sort the questions in any order you like and choose to hide questions you deem unnecessary.
Additionally you can create up to 4 custom questions of your own and add them to the booking form.
If you do not add a custom question to the booking form you can still use the new field as a private location to store information about bookings.

The new settings for all this are on the PROPERTY >> BOOKING RULES page in the control panel.

An interesting and useful refinement, Mark - and very much in line with Beds24.com's presumed design philosophy of the maximum possible flexibility and customisation possibilities for the host.

At AMBER HOUSE - at the centre!™ we've started to use 3 of the 4 new custom question fields; two are visible on the booking form
(Will you arrive by Cycle, own vehicle, hire car, Coach or into NSN airport? and
Where do you start your journey from on the day you arrive at Amber House?)
and we've utilised a third questions as a hidden field to store the answer to whether we've sent a Key Code or not and, if so for which room.

The usefulness of the latter would be greatly enhanced if there were a toggle to switch on or off whether the contents of a field were displayed in the mouse point hover-text in the CALENDAR>> CALENDAR>> view in the control panel.

This way we could suppress the hover-text display of the "Quoted price" field but enable the hover-text display of our new custom "Key code sent?" field...

Please, pretty, please!

You can set the new fields to be either optional or compulsory.
If they are compulsory the booking cannot proceed while they are blank and an error message will be displayed notifying the guest that they are compulsory fields and must be entered.
If they are optional the booking will proceed even if the field is left blank.

This will be part of a major redesign planned for the control panel.
The focus of the new panel will be on organising the growing number of settings in a way they are logical and easy to find and on making the booking information as customisable as possible to suit everyone's individual needs.

Please everyone, you are encouraged to use this forum to give suggestions and ideas to improve the control panel that would make it better for you so we can make it as great as we possibly can.
Currently we are looking toward the end of the year for the control panel 2.0 release date.

The custom questions now have the option to show a tick box as an alternative to text and multiple choice answers.

For those who want the guest to agree to something before booking you can set the tick box question to compulsory.
When it is compulsory the booking cannot proceed until the tick box question has been ticked.
You can include a link to your terms and conditions etc. page in the question by including it in an <A> link.

Alternatively the tick box can be set to "optional" and used to gather yes/no responses from the guest.
