We can now link accounts so they access the same information.

Each normal Beds24 account can only log in to one computer at a time.
If you log into a second computer the first computer will be logged out.
With linked accounts two or more computers can access the same information from different computers.

We can also set the read and write ability of linked accounts on bookings, rates, rooms and properties.
This means you could for example have a linked account that has read/write access to bookings but read only access to rates, room and property settings.

The linked accounts are charged at the basic account fee of $3.20 per month regardless of how many rooms and properties they link to, there is no setup fee.

If you are interested in having multiple logins to your account please let us know and we will set it up for you.

(And a very reasonable price considering all the programming you must have had to do to enable record locking, etc...)

Can you also set it so that the new linked account can NOT delete a booking record?

We're thinking of hiring some staff and we wouldn't want them to be able to delete entire records both from a "whoopsie" point of view and also not being able to delete a booking after they fraudulently pocketed any cash receipts associated with the booking that they then deleted.

We would like them to be able to create new bookings with the new linked account - or is that too hard?

We can only set the account access level on bookings to "read only" which means they cannot change anything or "read/write" which means they can change everything including deleting.
The password still needs to be entered to delete a booking so it is unlikely to be accidental.

If you are worried about fraud don't forget someone could also change a 3 night booking to 2 nights and pocket the difference.

One option is to setup a daily download of your bookings from the https://www.beds24.com/api and archive these somewhere.
This would at least give you an audit trail for later investigation if ever required.

Excellent points - I had forgotten about the password required for deletion.
I take it that the deletion password when logged on as the linked secondary account will still be the primary account password - not the the linked secondary account password?

If the second account has been granted write access to the bookings they will be able to delete bookings using their own password.

Would you change that, please?

It's not so easy to change. The accounts are separate and have their own passwords.
