I haven't tried it to see if it works, but what about establishing the price for the upsell as a percentage instead of a fixed sum. This would be similar to the way you can add taxes to the price.

This happens to me as well. I think Expedia does it themselves to undercut Booking.com by a couple dollars. That way people will choose them instead of Booking.com.

Is there a place where people can post their CSS customizations, and personalized booking pages? I'd love to see what other people are doing, and maybe get some ideas. I'm not an expert with CSS, so if I see what other people have done, I can copy it.
